It's kind of funny that the only move Scarlet knows Jirachi can do is Confusion, considering that Jirachi already does that whenever it appears in battle.

Reply Crash guy, April 8th, 2016, 12:31 pm

@Ultizeta: Wait till Scarlet will ask Jirachi to do it's other attack and they are using Rest

No. Really. At this point the only attack Jirachi would have is Rest, Wish and Confusion.. And a little chance of having Swift but not likely that Jirachi would level up to 10 after only this 2 battles taking that they'd be at LV5 at the beggining even after fact that Scolipede was at level 46

Reply LKWayvern, April 8th, 2016, 2:59 pm

@Crash guy: Keep in mind that we don't know Jirachi's level, or how old they are. They could be thousands of years old and level 100, for all we know, but Scarlet is severely restricted by having to guess Jirachi's moveset.

Reply Crash guy, April 8th, 2016, 4:05 pm

@LKWayvern: Now that I think about it, I'm willing to bet that Jirachi would probably be around 22-36 Level at the time of battle with Scolipede. It can be seen with the amount of confusion Jirachi had to use before Scolipede fainted and that would be 3 (unless Djoing just cut the times so it won't look stupid). Now feel free to correct me (haven't really played Pkmn in a long while) but if Scolipede is weak to Psychic a pokemon on the same level should be able to defeat him with 2-4 attacks, leaving that Jirachi would be a little lower on level than him or equal but I'm placing my bets on lower...
But hey! That's just a theory!

(also lolno, not even lvl 70, Jirachi didn't know Steel attack)

@Crash guy: This is the answer. This is all you'll ever need.

Even though we don't know the natures, EVs and IVs of Jirachi and Scolipede.

Reply bluefiredragon, April 9th, 2016, 9:10 am

@Kurona: Well, you can figure out the EVs for Jirachi by taking the Pokemon it's defeated prior to its battle with Scolipede and giving the respective EV bonuses to Jirachi. For IVs, it's been a rule that since Gen 6, your legendary Pokemon must have three stats with IVs of 31(the max). But we can't know which 3 stats, so we can leave those alone. Judging by Jirachi's interactions with Scarlet so far, it seems to be of a Jolly nature, giving it more Speed and less Special Attack.

For Scolipede... we can't really know too much about it definitively except the fact that it's level 46. But... the old man does give us one more clue, and that's that Scolipede has been raised from a Venipede to a Scolipede, and that the Pokemon was caught instead of hatched. This means that the EV count for Scolipede is high, as its been raised from a low level, and that it most likely has low IVs, since it wasn't hatched from a chain of IV high Pokemon.

I love the fact that you're going into so much detail over this.

I know nothing about these kinds of Pokemon intricacies.

Reply bluefiredragon, April 9th, 2016, 6:40 pm

@Djoing: Thank you. I love the fact that the creator of this comic loves this analysis of his OC!

On that second statement, I honestly don't know too many people who do. Don't feel too bad about it.

Did you actually design these fights with Jirachi's stats and levels in mind? Just wondering.

Reply Djoing, April 9th, 2016, 7:11 pm

I don't pay too much attention to stats, but I do facctor in 'levels' of sorts.

Reply Nashew, April 8th, 2016, 2:55 pm

The question is, who does it suck for?

Probably Scarlet knowing her luck

Reply bluefiredragon, April 9th, 2016, 6:42 pm

@Nashew: The kind of luck that makes Stone Edge miss. EVERY. DARN. TIME. Has anyone here actually been there? (Besides me, I know I have for sure)

That Eevee sprite is adorable... Do you think as an extra at some point you could explain how you make your sprites in that style?

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2016, 10:02 pm

Sounds like his second pokemon is fight, poison or psychic.

Reply bluefiredragon, April 9th, 2016, 6:42 pm

@The_mad_one: Imagine if it's another Nidoran XD

Reply Crash guy, April 10th, 2016, 1:31 am

@bluefiredragon: lolno. It's connected to Eevee in some way
